Come see us during the 2024 season! … We will open our restored Western Maryland Railway Station Visitors’ Center and Museum on April 8th! We will be here to greet you from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily  through Sunday, October 27th. We look forward to seeing you here in 2024 – Meyersdale’s Sesquicentennial Anniversary!

Meyersdale Turns 150! … The Borough of Meyersdale marks its Sesquicentennial Anniversary in 2024, and we plan to celebrate! Officially organized as “Meyersdale” on February 19th, 1874, community leaders are actively working on plans for activities that will honor our community’s history. Karen Oakes anticipates fourth season as station manager … Karen Oakes is now serving as manager of our restored railway station for her fourth season. Virginia May will again join her as a station attendant. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated staff on hand to welcome our guests!

2024 Fundraising Raffle! … Stay tuned for exciting news regarding our annual fundraising raffle! In addition to a top prize to be announced, we anticipate we will be raffling off a one-night stay at each of the following Meyersdale lodging establishments: Levi Deal Mansion, Yoder’s Guest House, The Red Lantern B&B, Megan’s Airbnb, and the Inn on Main B&B. Drop by once we optn to purchase tickets for your chance to win one of these fabulous local lodging prizes upon our October 27th prize drawing.

Halloween at the Station! … We again hope to greet trick-or-treaters of all ages during our community’s annual Halloween celebration in October. Visit the station to see our museum displays and pick up some goodies. Historical society board members and friends will be on hand to greet you! More details to come as the season progresses.

Fundraising Raffle Winners To Be Drawn October 27th! … The winners of our annual fundraising raffle will be drawn at noon on Sunday, October 27th. Winners will be contacted following the drawing.

Our station will close for the season at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th.

Special Display Honoring Harry Beal … Thanks to Harry’s family, we are displaying wonderful photographs of the late Harry Milton Beal, Meyersdale native and our nation’s first Navy SEAL. Visit the station to see this collection of photos shared with our historical society by Harry’s family.

Big Savage Tunnel Will Open for Season! … The doors of the Big Savage Tunnel will open for the season near the end of March.

The 77th annual Pennsylvania Maple Festival will be celebrated April 20th and 21st and April 24th through 28th.
